Faculty of Invisibility – Extended Causus: Distance

Having in mind the commitment of culture towards an economy of representation the Faculty of Invisibility would like to open an extended caucus – a space of retreat and reflection functioning as a space of distance. Noting that a cultural event wont be able to satisfyingly elaborate on the possible future sites, scenarios and organization of education the Faculty would like to practice the extended caucus taking place before, meanwhile and after Summit, both online and offline.
The Faculty of Invisibility was formed in 2006 as a self-generating structure in which artists and other practitioners form the body of the Faculty by becoming tutors to a specific aspect of their practice. In the Faculty tutors are students and each student is tutor. The Faculty meets in manifestations and issues its primary material, communication amongst the Departments, in newspapers. The Faculty observes its own process of forming an institutional body investigating the demand for solidity as well as its capacity to remain uncertain and undefined.
