Networking Bordergames

we are at the moment ruling our first berlin workshop in Wrangelkiez, a quater with high degree of migrant population. we are working with young people of both sexes in two different locations, aiming to involve the kids into the construction of a 3D computer game called "Bordergames" . Thus on one hand we try to empower them with new media technology, handing them over computers and programs as well as the knowledge to use them. On the other hand the theme of the game are the real-life borders (social, political, gender) the kids have to deal with in their everyday life, so the game becomes a mean to analize those "borders" and eventually to represent them to others as well as a way to find out alternative solutions. Basically what we aim at is a technological and comunicational empowerment as well as the creation of a international network between us, other social and creative workers and the young migrants on some common political and creative notions. Bordergames actually is operating in Madrid, Barcelona, Al Houceima and Berlin.
